The \u2018Trade Unions in post conflict society\u02bc project, funded by the ERDF,\u00a0 seeks through a series of seminars to promote a genuine debate within our political, policy and public discourse about public services in a post conflict society.
\nThe ICTU and Trademark in partnership with\u00a0 The Northern Ireland Trades Councils\u00a0organised a\u00a0discussion on the continued privatisation of the National Health Service.
\nSpeakers included\u00a0Dr John Lister and his experiences of the NHS and Dr Una Lynch who has studied extensively in Cuba as well as an American Nurse working in the health System in the USA.

\nDr Una Lynch has been studying the Cuban health system and the reasons behind its conspicuously good outcomes for over seven years. A nurse, health visitor and midwife Una has been involved in public health practice, education, policy and research across the island of Ireland for over 25years. She has also worked with the WHO and NGOs in Europe, Ghana and Latin America and has extensive experience in evaluation. Her Doctoral thesis is a case study of Public Health Governance in Cuba.<\/p>\n
